Rawan Hamed

Basketball is one of the defining arenas of Rawan Hamed’s work — a sport where timing is measured in fractions of a second and every frame demands anticipation, instinct, and precision. Based in Doha, the Jordanian sports photojournalist has built a versatile portfolio across basketball, football, volleyball, and other sports, with accredited coverage including FIBA, AFC, the GCC Games, and the Amir of Qatar Cup. Rawan approaches sport as a complete editorial narrative rather than a sequence of images — where a fraction-of-a-second decision, a deliberate frame, and a precise point of view can distill an entire contest without explanation. Her lens is drawn to photographs that carry the weight of the news, the significance of the event, and what deserves to remain of it.
